I’m a mom of two delightful daughters, ages 9 and 12. They’ve always been educated outside of traditional “school” settings. We lean towards unschooling and have, during some years, had other kids join our adventure. We’ve been active with West Texas Homeschool Co-op/Open Skies, where I quickly moved into leadership, eventually becoming a co-director of the program. Before that, I taught in public schools in a variety of subjects, was active in campus leadership, and ran the High Adventure program at Buffalo Trail Scout Ranch. My formal education includes a BS in Recreation, Park, and Tourism Sciences with specialization in Outdoor Education as well as Teaching Certificates for K-4, 4th-8th, and all level Special Education. My informal education includes being a voracious reader and researcher of educational literature and human behavior. Personally, I love to be active, which at this time includes roller skating, Taekwondo, and trying to keep the chaos of my house at bay.

I am a homeschooling mom with 7 years of experience. I have 3 great kids Kassie (14), Audrey (11), and Lucas (10). I originally chose to start homeschooling because I was disappointed with how public school worked for Kassie, but now homeschooling is our lifestyle. In the beginning of my homeschooling journey, I went through a divorce and spent several years as a single mom homeschooling all three kids while holding down a high demand full time job.
My job experiences have shaped my life and left me with a diverse knowledge on numerous subjects, everything from dog breeds, surgery, roller skating, art, house cleaning, education and so much more. I have owned multiple small businesses including dog grooming and professional housekeeping. I also have managed larger business’ including Claire’s for 2 years and KC’s Nutty Roller for 11 years. In my spare time I have taught painting classes and skating classes. I love everything purple, skating, and my sweet puppy Corri.
